Kehillah High Sunday Opportunities
At Kehillah High, we believe that Israel education is an integral part of Jewish education. We are launching the Israel Engagement Fellowship, available to students in grades 9-11 who want to dive deeper into their questions about Israel. Alongside friends, participants in the Israel Engagement Fellowship will explore the centrality of Israel in Jewish history, discover the many facets of Israel, examine the Israeli-Arab conflict, learn from differing narratives, and develop a uniquely personal Israel story. This program meets on Sunday afternoons with Michael Duke.
Join your congregation on Sunday morning as a madrich/madricha (teaching assistant). The program allows all 8th-12th grade teens to learn special leadership skills and work with younger children. You can develop special relationships within the community, serve as a role model (dugma), and explore your skills as educational leaders. Check with your congregation for more information and about receiving community service hours.
Israel Teen Ambassadors is a Jewish Federation of Greater Houston program that empowers high school student juniors and seniors to be knowledgeable about Israel and to champion strong U.S. – Israel relations. The two-year long program provides participants with the tools necessary to engage with Israel in the realms of politics, culture, arts, science and more. The goal is to help educate students about Israel and to give them tools to be effective activists and Jewish leaders on their future college campuses. The program meets once a month throughout the school year. By participating in this program, you will be eligible to participate in events like the AIPAC High School Summitt and the AIPAC Policy Conference, both of which take place in Washington.
