8th & 9th Grade Alternative Winter Break Trip
Registration is open for this year's City-Wide 8th and 9th Grade Alternative Winter Break in New Orleans. We have not traveled to New Orleans since 2018 and look forward to again offering this unique opportunity to Houston's Jewish 8th and 9th graders. We depart from Houston on Monday, January 2, and return Thursday, January 5.

The Alternative Winter Break trip is open to all Jewish 8th and 9th graders from the Houston area; Kehillah High enrollment is not a requirement to attend so feel free to share these details across the community. |

This highly subsidized Alternative Winter Break (actual cost: $800) is made possible to you at this price through generous support from our community including donors, participating congregations, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
Checks should be made out to Jewish Federation of Greater Houston attn: Kehillah High and can be mailed to 5603 South Braeswood Blvd, Houston, Texas 77096 or brought to classes on Wednesday evenings and given to Danielle or Stephanie. The deposits will be returned following your child's successful completion of the trip.
Health and Safety
To maintain everyone's safety against COVID-19, we are requiring that all participants be fully vaccinated with the primary COVID vaccine series (two doses of Moderna/Pfizer or a single doze of J&J. We recommend, in accordance with the CDC, that all participants receive one (bivalent) booster if it has been at least two months since their last COVID-10 vaccine dose. We also recommend participants receive the season’s flu shot prior to the trip. You will be asked to upload an image of your child's vaccination card to the registration form.

- Kehillah High Students: The trip is free for Kehillah High students, as it is already included with the cost of tuition. In order to secure a spot, there is a $200 fully-refundable deposit due with registration.
- Emanu El Students: The trip is free for Emanu El students, as it is already included with the cost of tuition.
